This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper
Michigan and western Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A line of thunderstorms moves from west to east across the U.P.
tonight. Some storms along this line this evening into the early
overnight hours could be severe with gusty winds to 58 mph and
quarter-sized hail. Tornado threat remains low, around a 2%
chance early this evening along the WI/MI state line.

Some minor lakeshore flooding is possible along Delta and
Southern Schoolcraft counties.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Winds 40 to 50 mph are possible over much of Upper Michigan
Wednesday, with the strongest winds over the Copper Country
possibly exceeding 55 mph.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday and Saturday.

EDT...

At 1202 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles north of Big Bay to 7 miles northwest
of Nahma. Movement was northeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Marquette, Munising, Grand Island, Miners Castle, Pictured Rocks
National Lakeshore, Presque Isle, Chapel Lake, Au Train, Chatham,
Seney, Little Presque Isle, Deerton, M-94 between Steuben and
Manistique, Shingleton, Trenary, Steuben, M-28 between Shingleton and
Seney, Trowbridge Park, Harvey, and U.S. 41 between Trenary and Rapid
River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Superior, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

           suddenly higher waves.

Island, The Huron Islands, Miners Castle, Pictured Rocks National
Lakeshore, Stannard Rock, Laughing Whitefish Point, Granite Island,
and Granite Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

         unsecured objects.
